Nike Air Max 90 “Na’vi” Sample

Mentalkicks offers us a peek into a special pair of Nike’s Air Max 90, which takes inspiration from the Na’vi (the blue people from Avatar). Its rumored that only less than 5 pairs of these were produced, and at the moment it doesn’t seem like they’ll see a wider release. For those interested, a size 9 is being made available here.

LUMINOX Deep Diver Watch

A longtime companion to many levels of the armed forces, LUMINOX has recently released an all new model with the Deep Diver model. With a defining feature seen in its 50 bar water resistancy, the watch can withstand depths of 500 meters/1500 feet. Complying with ISO 6425 standards, the watch includes LUMINOX’s trademark luminescent technology as well as a helium release valve. Luminox’s Deep Diver watch comes in three different colors.

tobe 2010 Collection

The new 2010 collection from New Zealand brand tobe is just about to hit stores. To celebrate the launch of the new collection, the boys at tobe will be hosting a pop up store for the shoes from April 16th-18th. Post pop up store, tobe’s 2010 collection will be available from Good as Gold and Huffer’s online stores with more stores coming. tobe offers two color ways, black, white with blue sole and an all white style, high top with fold down detailing, mid cut boot and low cut styles, and a distinctive numbering code on the tongue of the shoe.

Corto Moltedo x Illesteva Frieda Frames

Paris based, Italian goods company Corto Moltedo and New York based eyewear specialists Illesteva have teamed up for a collaboration to create a new optical frame style named ‘Frieda’. The new frames are inspired by the lifestyle and the aesthetics apparent in Havana, Cuba, in the 1950’s which was then nicknamed the ‘Latin Las Vegas’. Made in Germany the frames come in a natural marmor, acetate color way which will be exclusively sold at Corto Moltedo’s flagship store at the Palais Royal in Paris from June 25th, 2010, during Paris Men’s S/S 2011 Fashion week.

Superga x Comme des Garcons Spring/Summer 2010 Collection

Comme des Garcons add another set of lightweight canvas shoes to their Spring/Summer 201o collection by teaming up with Italy’s popular canvas tennis shoe makers Superga.

Maison Martin Margiela x Cerruti Baleri Furniture

With the attention to layout and environment so apparent when you walk into a Maison Martin Margiela store it is no surprise that the company is now looking at furniture design, and we are not complaining. Maison Martin Margiela have joined up with Italian furniture experts, Cerruti Baleri to create two interior products which will be launched at Milan’s Fuorisalone. ‘Groupe’, a surrealist sofa that incorporates three armchairs, and ‘Emmanuelle’, an armchair wrapped in white cotton canvas.

Jaeger-LeCoultre AMVOX5 World Chronograph for Aston Martin

Swiss timekeepers Jaeger-LeCoultre unveil the fifth model from its AMVOX5 range, dubbed “World Chronograph”. This new series takes inspiration from Aston Martin’s all-conquering race cars while giving birth to four wristwatches in the AMVOX line. Gucci Classic Chronograph Watch

Revealed during the recent Baselworld 2010 convention was this Classic Chronograph timepiece by Gucci. Featuring the brand’s trademark colors, the watch boasted an overall timeless look for the Gucci consumer or watch fan alike. Meister “The Chief” Collection

Watch specialists Meister add a new collection of designs to its already impressive roster of time pieces. The Chief Collection consists of three different colorways in Meister’s Chief watch, featuring details such carbon fiber dials, stainless steel bezels, IP-coated Full 316L stainless steel cases, Japanese 3 hand and date quartz, and scratch-resistant mineral crystal lenses amongst other features. Andy Warhol’s Salvatore Ferragamo “Creation” Brogues

Salvatore Ferragamo’s extraordinary creativity and craftsmanship in footwear gained him many admirers, including pop art icon Andy Warhol; who owned a pair of Salvatore Ferragamo Brogues back in the 80s. It was the only style of shoes which the renown Italian shoe maker designed for men in his lifetime (1898-1960), the brogues offered exceptional comfort, and Andy Warhol naturally wore these in the studio, painting and working in them. Over time, the brogues were speckled and splattered in paint. Then 19 years after Andy Warhol passed away, in 2006, the Ferragamo family bought the paint-specked Warhol shoes at a Christies auction (More here). And now the ‘Creation’ brogue has been recreated in honour of the great pop art icon.
Authorized copies are now available for USD$990 at the Ferragamo flagship store on Fifth Avenue in New York, as well as Dover Street Market in London.

Maison Martin Margiela Miami Store

Maison Martin Margiela announces the opening of their 19th store which will be in Miami, Florida, within the Miami Design District. Full of galleries and design stores thsi area seems like a perfect fit for the conceptual fashion brand. Staying with their signature style of design aesthetic within the store the fit will stay white with furniture, objects, fabrics and textures, old and new – typical of the spirit of the Maison Martin Margiela’s Paris premises, a former school of industrial design, in the 11th arrondissement of the city. The Spring 2010 Collection will be the first collection to be hosted within the new stores ‘houses’.

Vivienne Westwood MAN Store in London

Vivienne Westwood, created a name for herself styling the likes of Johnny Rotten and design consort, Andreas Kronthaler. A defining name in fashion and one made memorable for her association with being so pivotal in punk fashion. With Kronthaler taking over the MAN line and providing his own spin to the Westwood stockpile of pirates, buffalo boys, gigolos and buccaneers has culminated in this latest move.
